James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
In Niger, children with special needs are frequently abused, neglected, and mistreated. “Fatima,” a Christian woman living in Niger has dedicated her life to loving these forgotten children. A few years ago, Fatima started a center where she welcomed children with special needs into her home. She provides education and therapy, but she also bathes, feeds, and tells these sweet children about Jesus. Fatima now has a center and other Nigeriens that work alongside her to minister to over 40 children with special needs.
Niger has the youngest population in the world and 50.12% of the nation is under 15 years old. Many of the youth in Niger are unhappy, disillusioned with Islam, and even resistant to their parents’ traditional values. Many are looking for truth.
Pray that the youth of Niger would find Jesus who alone can give them the joy, purpose, and fulfillment they seek.
When Lot accepted Christ, his oldest son, Abdou, moved out of the house. Recently, Abdou called his father and when Lot asked him to return home, Abdou responded, “When you stop being a Christian, I will come home.” Lot pleaded with his son to come home and hear about Jesus Christ, who completely transformed his life. Lot asks for prayer that his son would return home, listen to the Good News, and be saved.
“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!”
Revelation 22:20
Ask the Lord Jesus to write this cry on the hearts of the Nigerien church such that their lives and their words would raise up a shout in harmony: “Come, Lord Jesus!” Pray that each Nigerien follower has eternal hope in the glory of His triumphant return. As Nigerien believers anticipate the second coming of Christ, pray that they will be faithful to share the Good News with those who have never heard of the first coming of Christ.
My name is Khalid and I am a follower of Jesus in Morocco. My abusive Father died this year and I am the oldest in my family. It is my job to care for my mother and my siblings. I want to do much more than my cultural duty to my family. As a follower of Jesus, I want to love them well. My mother has been telling me about the change she has noticed in me and what a good son I am. I know this is because of Jesus but she does not yet know this. I have been talking to her about living my life fully surrendered to God. I am finding ways to share verses that help us as a family to know God’s love and truth together. Pray for me and my family as I bring them on a journey of discovering who God is and how we, as a family, can live our lives in full knowledge of Him and surrender to Him.
Pray for believers in Niger who, like Khalid, are trying to lead their families on a journey to Christ.
