Pray for a Nigerien Believer

When some Christians first met “Jago,” his entire body was adorned with amulets, talisman, and demonic fetishes. He said that his life was devoted to serving the devil and that he relied on spirit worship to provide him with protection and power. When Jago heard the Gospel, everything changed. He realized that Jesus Christ was more powerful than anything under heaven or earth. He took all of his amulets, talismans, and fetishes, and burned them, leaving his old life behind and stepping into the light of life. 

• Pray that Jago would have the boldness to share his dramatic transformation with others.
• Pray that those that remain tethered to demonic practices will find freedom in Christ.

Cultural Petition

Many Nigerien Muslims are burdened by the crushing weight of sin and shame. 

• Pray that this month, many Nigerien Muslims would hear the Good News that Jesus Christ came to bear our sins and our shame on Himself.
• Pray that Nigeriens would experience freedom from their heavy burdens as they place their trust in Jesus Christ.

Intercede on Behalf of the Lost

“Bartholomew” is a 21-year-old student who believes that Jesus is the son of God, but his parents have forbidden him to become a Christian. Bartholomew’s mother is known for practicing witchcraft and stories have circulated throughout her village about the power she wields against her enemies.  Bartholomew is fearful of the repercussions of disobeying his parents.

• Pray that Bartholomew would step out in faith and choose to accept Christ.
• Pray that he would recognize that the God of the Bible has authority over all other powers and dominions in this world.
• Pray that Bartholomew’s parents would recognize that Jesus Christ is the All-Powerful God of the universe.

Praise the Creator that His work of drawing every nation on earth to Himself was finished from the foundation of the world.

• Ask that the glory of the Lord’s finished work and His eternal wisdom would flood the church of Niger.
• Pray that the Nigerien church would be marked by boldness and satisfaction with all that Jesus Christ has done, is doing, and will do among all the tribes and tongues throughout Niger and the whole earth. 

A Testimony from Across the Muslim World

Jannat had a question for a Christian she was talking to: “I read some parts of the Bible, and there I found that Jesus came only for the Jews, but it also says when He was crucified that He is the savior of mankind. Do you have any proof of this?”

A long discussion ensued about many passages in the Bible. After a few days, Jannat asked her friend to send Bible references proving that Islam is not true. After long days of discussions, she started to believe in Jesus but not that He is the Son of God. Eventually, Jannat asked for a New Testament. Jannat asks for prayer for herself because though she is still on the journey to Christ, her family notices changes in her behavior and is causing her problems because of it.

Pray for Jannat and many seekers all over the Muslim world to have grace and wisdom to discern who in their family would be open to discovering God through the teachings of the Bible so that they can come to faith in Christ with others.
