Pray for a Nigerien Believer

Pray for Hasad, a language tutor that has aided many missionary families with language acquisition for decades.  Hasad is the only believer in his family and is heavily persecuted and shunned by his friends, neighbors, wife, and even children. 

Pray that Hasad would not grow weary of doing good, but trust that in time, the Lord will reap a plentiful harvest from the seeds sown in Hasad’s personal life.  In the meantime, pray that the Lord would give Hasad great confidence in his ability to aid and equip so many others to share the Gospel in Niger.

Cultural Petition

Nigerien Muslims believe that if one can master the basic desires for food, water, and sex, one can master any temptation during the remainder of the year. They fast during Ramadan to grow in discipline, self-control, and submission to Allah.  Islam teaches that people can change themselves for the better if they exert the discipline to do so. 

• Pray that as Nigerien Muslims fast, they would recognize that their sacrifices cannot earn the favor from God that they seek. 
• Pray that they would hear about Jesus Christ who already paid the penalty for their sin.

Intercede on Behalf of the Lost

Pray for “Peri,” a Fulani village chief who truly believes that Jesus is the only God and that eternal life can be found in him alone. Peri has not yet publicly professed his faith or been baptized because he continually faces threats from other people who want to take his place as Chief.

• Pray that the Holy Spirit would encourage him in his decision-making and that the Lord Jesus would grant him wisdom as he leads his people.
• Pray that during this time when most people are depriving themselves of food and water in search of a divine reward, others, like Peri, would seek to know the living God who alone can save them.

• Ask the God Omnipotent to strengthen the spiritual hands of Nigerien believers so that they might cling to the Lord their God. 
• Pray that God would grant the Nigerien church an ever-growing list of those who have gone ahead to which they can look for examples and encouragement in faithful finishing of the race.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

A Testimony from Across the Muslim World

Fawad saw a Facebook ad one day about the prophet Abraham ready to sacrifice his son. He had questions and he reached out to a Christian social media page. He engaged in many conversations. After talking for three months he decided to put his faith in Jesus. Fawad did something bold after he became a believer, he invited his family members to listen to his conversation on the phone with a Christian. His wife and kids sat with him when he would talk about Jesus and after a couple of months, they all made a decision to follow in Fawad’s footsteps and be followers of Jesus. Please pray for Fawad, his wife, and his three kids to grow stronger in their faith and continue to be bold to share their faith with many others. Pray for more families like Fawad’s in Niger.
