Pray for a Nigerien Believer

Whenever “Mira” is sick, her husband tells her to leave his house and return to her parent’s home. He refuses to care for or provide financially for his wife because he believes that her illness is a punishment from Allah for becoming a Christian.

Yet Mira clings to her faith and places her trust in Jesus Christ who will never abandon her. Mira has led her daughter to Christ and now two of her sisters have also accepted Christ.

Mira longs for her husband to be saved and for her mother to place her trust in Christ Jesus. Pray that the Lord would use Mira to draw others to Himself.

Cultural Petition

Many Nigeriens believe that they cannot trust anyone.  Therefore, many Nigeriens live in isolation – hiding their questions, struggles, and burdens from everyone else. Multitudes of Nigeriens are seeking out someone that they can trust.

Pray that Nigeriens would find peace in the knowledge of the God who keeps His promises, who alone is faithful, and who is worthy of our trust.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 “He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.”

Intercede on Behalf of the Lost

“Nissa” comes from a devout Muslim family, but does not actively practice the faith they claim.  Nissa has been open to discussing his faith, listening to the Bible on a solar-powered radio, and even reading Christian books. 

His family lives in a neighboring country that is plagued with terrorism and political upheaval.  He recently traveled through this dangerous area to see his family and asked for prayer for him and his family’s safety after witnessing horrible atrocities in his home country.  Upon returning, he said he knew that so many Christians were praying for him and that God had protected him. 

• Pray that Nissa would choose to step out in faith and choose to follow the God that protected him. 
• Pray that his entire family would come to know the Lord and that their legacy would be changed for generations.

Bold Prayers from the Scriptures

“Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.” Luke 10:3 

The Lord Jesus has sent His followers in Niger out as lambs in the midst of wolves.

• Pray that Nigerien believers would grow in confidence and steadfastness to trust their ever-mindful, ever-caring shepherd as the wolves encircle and threaten them.
• Pray that God would give them a supernatural, attractive gentleness so that even in their suffering, they might be a witness to their enemies.

A Testimony from Across the Muslim World

I am a twenty-three-year-old woman. My family situation is very difficult, especially with my father. I finally ran away. I went through some very hard circumstances.

One day a friend introduced me to a Christian family. They welcomed me and told me about the Messiah. They said, “The Messiah is able to help you in your suffering.” Later I got online and was looking for a solution to my problems. Again, I was shocked to find information about the Messiah. I met Christians and they prayed with me a lot.

One day I woke up and I had such joy in my heart. I heard a voice say, “Accept the Messiah. Accept the Messiah.” I accepted Christ and was filled with the Holy Spirit. I felt new life come into my body and fill me with strength and renew my soul. Within a week, God began to prompt me to forgive my father.

Pray that God will give me faith to trust Him and forgive my father. Pray for others who are bound by the slavery of bitterness and unforgiveness. Pray that God will give them the strength to forgive.
