Matthew 22:37-39 “And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Pray for a Nigerien Believer

When “Cheri” accepted Christ as a teenager, her mother began verbally and physically abusing her. Her mother refused to clothe, feed, or provide for her and jeered, “Maybe your husband, Jesus, will give you something to eat.”  Cheri tried to find refuge in other places but was met with heartache and further difficulties.

Recently, a Nigerien Christian opened her home to Cheri. Her church family has paid for her to attend a private school and is helping meet her daily needs. Despite the difficulties and rejection she has endured, Cheri is not bitter or broken.  She continues to praise God for the blessings in her life and asks for prayer as she shares the Gospel with her friend, “Amina.”

Cultural Petition

Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) is the spiritual peak of Ramadan. This night celebrates when Allah is believed to have sent the Quran down from the seventh heaven.  Muslims believe that prayers on the Night of Power are more powerful, that their sins are forgiven, and that God’s blessings are more abundant. 

• Pray that Jesus will reveal himself to multitudes of Nigerien Muslims this evening as they seek a spiritual experience.  
• Pray that Nigerien Muslims would encounter Jesus Christ, the true Word of God on this pivotal night.

Intercede on Behalf of the Lost

Shortly after his wife accepted Christ, “Souleyman” saw Jesus in a vivid dream. When he shared the dream with an uncle who is an Imam, he was told to forget the dream and never speak of it again. Since that time, Souleyman has wavered in his convictions. At times, he brutally persecutes and torments his wife for being a follower of Christ, but at other times, he listens to the Bible and asks Christians thoughtful questions about the Gospel.

• Pray that during this Ramadan season, Souleyman would once again meet Jesus in his dreams.
• Pray that this time, Souleyman would fall on his knees before Jesus Christ and proclaim Him as Lord.

Bold Prayers from the Scriptures

“Though he slay me, I will hope in him; yet I will argue my ways to his face.” Job 13:15 

• Pray that Nigerien Christians would possess a profound trust in God’s goodness and His sovereign power, that they might proclaim with Job “though he slay me, I will hope in him.”
• Ask the Lord to teach the church in Niger to stand in awe and humble reverence toward God’s perfect plans and purposes, even as the waves of tragedy and challenge wash over them. 

A Testimony from Across the Muslim World

I am a married woman with two daughters. My daughters decided to follow Jesus, and I fought with them about their decision for a long time. Over time, I developed liver disease. The doctor wanted to start treatment. My daughters told me they would pray for me in the name of Jesus Christ. They said, “He will heal you but more than that he will save you from your sins.” I thought, “No problem. Let them try, and we will see what happens.”

At that time when they were praying, I was resting in my room alone and the weather was very hot. I felt a gentle breeze blow over me. I heard a voice say my name three times. Each time the voice was stronger. I got up and got dressed. I went to my daughters and asked, “Did you call me?” They said, “no.” They continued praying for me. Then I went back to my room and realized that I had heard the voice of the Messiah, and He touched me by healing me. The next day I went to the doctor. He said, “Please forgive us. We were wrong. You are not sick.” I surrendered my life to the Lord and began my journey walking with Him.

Pray for those who are sick and without hope. That Jesus will appear to them and heal them so that they may know that He is true and is their Savior.
