Praise the Lamb Who Was Slain

Pray for a Nigerien Believer

International workers had been visiting a Fulani village and sharing the Gospel for many years, but the villagers were hardened to the Gospel. Last year, Hassane and Haddie, Fulani believers with a tremendous gift for evangelism, moved to this village. When the villagers heard the same truth that they had heard for years from Fulani Muslim-background believers, they realized that Jesus was not just for the Westerner, but He had died to save them as well. Several people in the village accepted Christ and were baptized. 

A few weeks later, a young man who had been baptized died unexpectedly. Others in the village taunted Hassane, Haddie, and the other believers saying that the man’s death was divine punishment from Allah for following Jesus. The other new believers are fearful and discouraged.

• Pray that the Lord would use Hassane and Haddie to speak words of truth as they disciple and encourage these new believers.
• Pray that the church would grow and flourish even in the midst of tragedy.
• Pray that their faith would grow despite the persecution that they are receiving from those around them.

Cultural Petition

Pray that Nigerien Muslims would be open to discussing their spiritual practices with Nigerien Christians during Ramadan.

Pray that the Holy Spirit will provide Christians with an opportunity to share the Gospel and the boldness to profess the name of Jesus Christ.

Intercede on Behalf of the Lost

“Adam” and “Illia” are two young men who have become discontent with Islam and believe there must be something better for them. Both men began searching online for truth and started to ask questions about Jesus. A few Nigerien Christians began chatting with Adam and Illia and both were extremely open and hungry to learn more about Christ.

• Pray that Adam and Illia would realize the truth of Jesus’ words in John 14:6,“‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” 
• Pray that Adam and Illia would place their hope in Christ Jesus and be saved for eternity.

Bold Prayers from the Scriptures

“By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it.” 1 Peter 5:12 

• Pray that our Heavenly Father would teach Nigerien believers to cling to the true grace of God and to stand firm in it.
• Pray that as fear and doubt arise, Nigeriens would look to Christ as the solid Rock on which they stand as they build His Kingdom in Niger. 

A Testimony from Across the Muslim World

Hamzaa, a taxi driver living in Iraq, first heard about Christianity when tuning in to a Christian radio station while he was working. He became curious and wanted to learn more, so he began searching the internet. He found an Arabic ministry website and sent them the following message. ‘I am a Muslim, and I am convinced that Christianity is the true way. I want to become a Christian, but I don’t know how.’

Mira*, a member of the Arabic response team, picked up his message and replied. She explained the Gospel to him, and after a short while, she led him in prayer, and Hamzaa became a Christian. God had been preparing Hamzaa’s heart for some time, and once he found the website, he was ready to commit his life to the Lord.

Soon after, Hamzaa was introduced to local believers in Iraq, and he began meeting with them face-to-face. The local believers sent a message saying; ‘Hamzaa is very hungry to learn and actively engages with us. We are now meeting twice a week and becoming friends as a group. We are going to begin doing activities together to develop that friendship and to grow in the Lord together.’

God is doing amazing miraculous works across the Arab world.

Pray that Hamzaa will continue to grow in his faith. Pray for strong friendships to develop and that he will continue to meet with fellow believers.
