Praise the One Who Upholds the Universe

Hebrews 1:3 “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.”

Pray for a Nigerien Believer

Pray for “Saratou,” a strong Christian woman who has faithfully raised all of her children to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ. Recently, Saratou had a very serious stroke and was flown into the capital city to receive medical treatment.  Saratou’s children have been tirelessly serving her and praying for her in the hospital.  Even in the midst of these tremendous trials, Saratou’s children give God glory and have entrusted their mother’s life to the hands of their Creator.

Pray that the Lord would heal Saratou in a miraculous way. Pray that the Lord would use this family’s faithful example to draw others to Christ.

Cultural Petition

This year, Ramadan will take place during the hottest and driest season of the year.

• Pray that the name of the Lord will spread across the desert of Niger.
• Pray that the life-giving Good News of Jesus Christ will spring forth in this desolate and dry land.

Intercede on Behalf of the Lost

Several years ago, “Noah” left his village in Burkina Faso to move to Niger in search of work. He and his wife began working for a missionary family living in the capital city. Over the years, two of his brothers and a cousin have also moved to Niamey and all work for missionary families.  In the past, Noah has declined opportunities to hear about Christ stating that his family members are all Muslims.

• Pray that this Ramadan, God would accomplish an incredible miracle in the lives of each member of this family.
• Pray that Jesus Christ would visit Noah, his wife, his brothers, and his cousin in dreams and visions as they ardently pray and fast.
• Pray that as these missionaries and other Christian friends continue to share the Gospel with each of them, their eyes would be opened.
• Pray that one day Noah would say that his hope is found in Christ alone and all his family members are Christians.

“When an attempt was made by both Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to mistreat them and to stone them, they learned of it and fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding country, and there they continued to preach the gospel.” Acts 14:5-7

• Pray that Nigerien believers will be blessed with the boldness and perseverance to continue to preach the Gospel even when attempts are made to mistreat them or when they are forced to flee their villages.
• Ask the Lord to give these believers faith that cannot be shaken by persecution. 

A Testimony from Across the Muslim World

“I am twenty-four and from Tunisia. I had a lot of debt and owed a lot of people and the government money. I asked myself, “Why don’t I ask God to help me?” The truth is, I didn’t ask because I didn’t believe God would help me. I left Islam and called myself an atheist. But, there was always something inside me that said, “There is a God.” I began to search and discuss with my friends. At that time, all of us were disillusioned, searching for truth, and some had even become Christians. We all brought information and shared it with one another. Pray for us that we will discover truth together.”
