Pray for a Nigerien Believer

Muriel continues to invite women into her home to teach them to sew as they listen to God’s Word in Hausa. She states that it is incredibly difficult for a woman to accept Christ in Niger because they risk losing everything: her husband, children, home, family, and livelihood. Yet, Muriel remains faithful to love and encourage the women in her community and share the Gospel.

Pray that Muriel’s persistence would bear fruit and that many women would choose to follow Christ.

Cultural Petition

Many Nigerien marriages are tainted by neglect, abuse, polygamy, inequality, and infidelity. Yet God intended that marriage would be a beautiful representation of His love for the Church.

• Pray for Nigerien Muslims who are living without Christ and their marriages are incomplete and separated from their God-given identity and purpose. 
• Pray for restoration within marriages across Niger.

Ephesians 5:22, 25 “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord….Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”

Intercede on Behalf of the Lost

When “Bashir’s” mother got married many years ago, his stepfather would not allow him to live in his house, so he was forced to live on his own at a young age. Eventually, Bashir’s stepfather passed away. Recently, Bashir’s mother became very ill and Bashir stopped everything to be his mother’s caretaker and to provide for her financially.

While at the hospital, Bashir met a Christian man whose mother was recovering from a stroke in the same hospital. The Christian man began sharing his faith with Bashir and Bashir was immediately enthralled by the hope that he had in Jesus Christ. 

• Pray that Bashir would choose to place his trust in the God who can heal his mother, provide for his needs, and save his soul.
• Pray for healing for Bashir’s mother and that she too would come to know Jesus Christ. 

Bold Prayers from the Scriptures

“O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12 

• Ask God to look down upon the hopelessness and the brokenness that surrounds and threatens the Nigerien church and see how the enemy is striving to steal and destroy.
• Pray that in the midst of the incomprehensible and insurmountable brokenness, the Lord would revive and strengthen Nigerien believers so that they might also proclaim “we do not know what to do, but our eyes on you, Lord.”  

A Testimony from Across the Muslim World

Shahid became a believer two and a half years ago. He lives in Multan and comes from a family of “Pir Culture”. His father is a Pir and they have his grandfather’s shrine in their house where local people come with their prayer needs. A believer had been discipling him for over two years and arranged for him to meet with a local pastor and get baptized. This is a big step for him because baptism can be a big challenge when your whole family has strong opposing views. He was recently married to a Muslim woman arranged by his family and he shared this with her but she is still a Muslim by faith. He has joined a local church and is actively growing in faith.

Please pray for Shahid for any future challenges he will face as a growing believer and pray for his wife to also come to know Jesus and not be opposed to Him.
