Pray for a Nigerien Believer

Pray for “Sofana,” an incredibly hard worker and passionate follower of Christ.  She is active in her church community and serves her neighbors wholeheartedly.  But Sofana has endured many hardships in her life.  She continues to face heavy persecution from her unbelieving family, who claim her battle with infertility is because of her choice to follow Christ.  The desire of Sofana’s heart is to have children, and she continues to be a “spiritual mother” to many children in her church and neighborhood while waiting for the Lord to give her children of her own. 

Pray that Sofana will continue to remain steadfast and immovable in her faith, and to trust God’s perfect plan for her life.

Cultural Petition

Many Nigeriens are suffering tremendously from the violence that plagues regions across Niger whether extremism, domestic and sexual abuse, sacrifices, honor killings, and more. 

• Pray that Nigerien Muslims would experience the love of Jesus Christ which stands in stark contrast to their beliefs.
• Pray that they would choose to obey Jesus, the Son of God who told his followers to love their enemies, pray for those who persecute them, and forgive others as he freely forgave us.

Intercede on Behalf of the Lost

A few months ago, a group of young teenage boys arrived on a bus in Niamey after growing up in the bush. These young men do not have a home; they sleep under a large tree each evening and spend their days looking for work.

“Luke” is a Christian medical student who has befriended these young men and has been sharing the Gospel with them.

• Pray that as these young men hear the Gospel, they would accept Christ and be baptized.
• Pray that they would come to know the One True God who can meet their physical and spiritual needs.

Bold Prayers from the Scriptures

 “It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household.” Matthew 10:25 

• Pray that the Holy Spirit would breathe a spirit of spiritual satisfaction over Nigerien believers so that they might resist the temptations and condemnations of the world.
• Pray that they would joyfully rest knowing that it is enough for a disciple to be like his teacher and a servant like his master.
• Ask God to give the Nigerien church profound satisfaction in becoming more and more like Christ, even as the world scoffs and condemns them. 

A Testimony from Across the Muslim World

Suneel is a very active MBB (Muslim background believer). He loves to share the Good News with his friends. One of his friends accepted Jesus recently. He is inspired by Suneel and wants to get baptized to proclaim his faith.

Please pray for Suneel and his efforts to share his faith with others. Pray for this new brother to continue to grow in his faith and be a witness to others just like Suneel.
