Pray for a Nigerien Believer

Pray for “Apollos,” the guard of a Christian family.  Apollos claims to be a Christian, but his life does not bear the fruit of someone walking with the Lord.  Pray that Apollos will grow “deep roots in the soil of God’s marvelous love” and that his life will bear much good fruit as a result.  Apollos will be getting married in December. 

• Pray that God will use this time of preparation to mature his faith and character and prepare him to be a godly husband and father. 
• Pray that the legacy of his future family will bring glory to God for generations to come.

Cultural Petition

For many Nigerien Muslims, honor is more important than truth.

• Pray for Nigerien Muslims who are living in darkness, deceiving others, and are themselves being deceived.
• Pray that Nigeriens would know Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. 
• Pray that the Lord would chase away the darkness and deception in Niger and that the glorious light of Christ would spread across the landscape of Niger. 

1 John 1:5 “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”

Intercede on Behalf of the Lost

Pray for “Hama,” a Zarma man who accepted Christ, was baptized, and was discipled by missionaries for many years.  After five years of following Christ, Hama abandoned his faith and returned to Islam. Although many Christian peers have tried to reach out to Hama, he has rejected all contact and he no longer allows his wife and children to listen to God’s word. A friend of his stated that Hama is lost, lonely, and sad.

• Pray that God would work a miracle in Hama’s life.
• Pray that Hama would choose the narrow path that leads to life, rather than continuing on the wide path that leads to destruction.
• Pray that Hama would remember the truth of the Gospel and like the prodigal son, he would return home to his loving Heavenly Father.

Bold Prayers from the Scriptures

“Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”” Acts 21:13 

Ask the Lord Jesus Christ to raise up a generation of Nigerien followers that are so burdened for His glory among the nations and so convinced of His eternal worth that they might say with passion and hope “I am ready not only to be imprisoned, but even to die…for the name of the Lord Jesus.”  

A Testimony from Across the Muslim World

I was never very religious, and I was a Muslim simply because my parents were. I believed that God was distant and angry with me. I suffer from a rare allergy condition. I feared for my life and in order to overcome my fear I tried to pray but felt nothing. Then I tried to memorize the Koran but as I read it, I found many contradictions, and the words disturbed me. I felt that God wanted me to ask one of my friends about the Messiah. I didn’t know that she was a Christian, but she prayed with me and quoted Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” I loved those words, and I began searching for testimonies on the internet. I researched until finally, I felt that I was wasting my time by prolonging my decision. I knew the truth, and I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ.

Pray that many throughout the Muslim world will know of God’s love and begin to love as Paul wrote about in 1 Corinthians 13.
