2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
Although “Garret’s” life has changed drastically since accepting Christ, he continues to struggle to control his anger. He earnestly asks for prayer that he would learn to control his anger and be quick to repent when he fails. Praise God for Garret’s repentant heart and his desire to be more like Christ.
Although Nigerien Muslims fast, pray, give alms to the poor, and strive to please Allah, they have no guarantee that Allah will give them eternal life.
Pray that the people of Niger would hear about Jesus, who was sacrificed on behalf of all people and who graciously offers eternal life to all who accept Him.
While sitting next to a Hausa woman in a busy clinic, “Mamata” initiated a conversation by asking if she was a Christian. When the woman responded that she was a Christian, Mamata stated that she could tell because Christians are different: they serve others and they are patient.
Mamata is a widow with four young children and lives with her mother. She has maintained a friendship with the Christian woman that she met at the clinic and remains open to the Gospel.
Pray that Mamata would choose to be “different” from those around her and place her trust in Jesus Christ.
“If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.”
1 Corinthians 9:12
Mesbah from Bangladesh said, “Atheism seemed right after one becomes disillusioned with his religion”. But later he realized that this vast and orderly universe and every unique aspect was not created by chance. These masterful creations must be the creation of a Creator. He later attended a church service. The pastor presented an excellent argument for the existence of the Creator. After that, Mesbeh joined a Bible study and was baptized into Christ a few days later.
Pray that as “the heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork…” (Psalm 19:1-4), men and women in Niger would hear and turn to the One who spoke them into existence and continues to speak through the Word who became flesh.
