Pray as the Lord leads you as you read today’s verse

“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:12-14)

Praying with insight

For those praying who live in Niger, and for others praying all over the world on behalf of the people of Niger, take a moment to reflect on and imagine what it would look like if everyone lived by the principle of doing to others as they would want done to them. Pray for these Kingdom values to take root in hearts and communities, transforming relationships, healing brokenness, and bringing God’s peace and justice across the nation.

Ask God to strengthen and empower believers in Niger to model these values boldly, shining as His light in their families, neighborhoods, and workplaces. Pray for God’s Kingdom to come in Niger in powerful and tangible ways, drawing people to Himself and transforming the nation for His glory.

For believers

“Tefi” and his wife, “Nala,” are believers from Cameroon who met “Abraham,” a Nigerien church planter, several years ago. Through Abraham’s coaching, training, and equipping, they were empowered to share the Gospel and make disciples among their people. Since then, Tefi has become a bold evangelist, helping to start numerous churches in Cameroon and recently expanding his ministry to neighboring Gabon.

Praise God for Tefi, Nala, and their three children as they faithfully work to make the name of Jesus known throughout West Africa.

For the lost

Pray for “Tefi’s” brother, “Obediah,” a devout Muslim. For years, Obediah was hostile toward Tefi because of his faith and passion for sharing the Gospel. He refused to even listen to Tefi, but Tefi remained steadfast in praying for his brother and sharing his faith. Over time, Obediah’s heart has softened, and he has begun to listen and ask questions about Tefi’s beliefs.

Pray that Obediah will be convinced that Jesus Christ is the Way and place his trust in Christ alone.

For the church

Please pray for regional church leaders as they travel from church to church to visit and encourage the congregations they shepherd. Many of them face severe persecution along the way, including physical attacks, insults, and hostility from those who oppose their mission.

• Pray that these hardships will not discourage them but instead strengthen their faith and resolve.
• Ask God to use their perseverance as a powerful testimony, shining His light in these communities and drawing others to Him.

For areas of influence

Pray that God would give grace to the Nigerien church to live out Jesus’ Golden Rule, “Do to Others”, teaching with one another.

Pray for simple house churches to model this kind of love to each other and those around them.

Pray for believers to proactively serve, visit the sick, listen to the wounded, grieve with the hurting, and show compassion to the weak…instead of waiting to be served, visited, or listened to. As they do, lead them to people who they could help form new house churches and Bible studies that would replicate such a way of life for God’s glory.

Declaration of the scripture

Pray for places of community in Niger:

• Lead Nigerien Christians to find ways to serve their community and gain creative access to Muslim families around them. Pray that as Christians love Muslims the way they want to be loved, that Muslim families would want to know more about how they are fulfilling ‘the Law and the Prophets’.
• Pray for Christians to stand out in their community for their unselfish love. Pray that they would find people of peace who would gather family or friends to read the Bible together and learn more about the source of this unselfish love.
• Pray for community leaders to be softened to the Gospel and desire their community to be shaped by Jesus’ teachings of love for enemies, serving others, and selflessness.
